Vikings cut the ribbon at new $1.1 billion football stadium (Yahoo Sports)

Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph spent his first three seasons playing in the Metrodome, a cramped, dingy noise box that tested the patience of fans and players alike. With a cutting-edge design that includes a translucent roof to allow in the daylight, a wall of glass with 100-foot doors that open to let the autumn breeze in and a locker room that is twice the size of their former home in the Metrodome, U.S. Bank Stadium has thrust the franchise into the 21st century. Camp a balancing act as Patriots prepare to be without Brady (The Associated Press)

In many ways, the New England Patriots enter their 2016 training camp as close as they've been in 19 months to ridding themselves of the cloud that has trailed them since the ''Deflategate'' saga began. The NFL challenged that ruling, and the league's punishment was reinstated by an appeals court in April. It means the Patriots will open camp July 27 knowing the cornerstone of their franchise won't be available for the first quarter of the season. [read full article]
